Salvation Through Jesus Christ

Do you know how much God loves you? God loves you so much that he GAVE his Son Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice to die on the cross for you. In his word, the Bible tells us in John 3:16, “for God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). God wants you to have everlasting life and that’s through his son Christ Jesus.

“…I’ve sinned, I’ve messed up…I’m sure I could never get right with Jesus or be saved. I’ve sinned too much, Jesus doesn’t love me; Salvation isn’t for me.”

According to Romans 5:8, “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus knows you’ve sinned and messed up along the way and still died on the cross for you so that you may inherit the gift of eternal life. John 3:16 starts off saying, “for God so loved THE WORLD”. Notice it says “the world” and not “perfect people” or “the holiest of holies”. God sent his Son to die on the cross for everyone. God knows people like you and I have fallen short from his Glory; however, that didn’t stop Jesus from dying on the cross for us.

"...How do I surrender and give my life to Christ? I want to be saved."

Romans 10:9-10 (that’s Romans chapter 10 verses 9 thru 10) reads, “…if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (KJV)

I just want to read another translation to help you better understand what was said and how easy it is to receive salvation. “…if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

That’s it! There’s no special ceremony required, jumping over mountains or “perfect standing” you need to be in. You can accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior wherever you are right now (in bed, in class, in the grocery line, etc). God wants you to come to him as you are, he’ll take care of it from there. Salvation is a gift. You just have to receive the gift. As we read in John 3:16, “God so loved the world that he GAVE”. What did he give? His son Jesus Christ and because he gave, what gift will you receive –according to Romans 6:23, “…the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

With that being said, if you believe in your heart God raised Jesus from the dead and want to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please say this prayer with me:

Heavenly Father, I ask Lord that you forgive me and cleanse me of all my sins. Lord God, I acknowledge that I can’t make it without you and I need you in my life. I believe in my heart that you rose Jesus Christ from the dead and I confess right now with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord. Thank you Lord for giving me your gift of salvation. I receive it right now and thank you for it. In Jesus name, Amen.

Praise God…! You are now saved! Welcome to The Body of Christ =]. Now here’s my pray to the Father for you:

Lord God, first I want to say thank you. Thank you Lord for this person who chose to surrender and give their life to you today. This is certainly a day to remember as it marks the day they have confessed you as their Lord and Savior and became born again. Thank you Jesus! I ask that you bless your new child. Lord, I pray that you do new things in his or her life as they become closer to you and gain a greater knowledge of who you are and their purpose on this earth. Father, guide them, teach them, and lead them to what you’d have them to do. Stir up new gifts in them and let your name alone be glorified. Thank you Lord for this person. Thank you Lord! In Jesus name, Amen.

Now that you’re saved find out what’s next and who you are in Christ Jesus.
